Artist
Born and raised in North Rhine-Westphalia, Maja Herrmann was introduced to art at an early age by her mother, a successful painter. She developed her artistic foundation autodidactically – characterized by curiosity, perseverance, and a keen sense of color and composition.
Characteristic of her work is the use of spatulas, with which she builds up her pieces layer by layer. Through the interplay of materials, printing techniques, and textures, she creates multi-layered compositions with depth and dynamism.
Her primary source of inspiration is travel. Personal moments and nature also significantly influence her artistic work. The vibrant colors of spring and summer are particularly reflected in her art. Impressions such as exotic fruits, intensely colored blossoms, captivating landscapes – for example, in Africa – or the unique feeling of vastness and lightness at the seaside all flow into her art.
On canvas, these experiences are transformed into expressive, abstract visual worlds. Her works thrive on intense color contrasts and balanced compositions, characterized by a unique aesthetic and harmony. They lend spaces an individual and atmospheric quality.
Today, Maja Herrmann lives and works as a freelance artist in Hamburg and can look back on over 18 years of experience. In her studio, she creates abstract acrylic paintings that are in demand internationally – by private individuals as well as hotels, restaurants, and companies.
Maja Herrmann's art is an expression of her personality – cheerful, experimental and full of energy.
